Natalie Stewart
Carroll volleyball
Stewart, a junior from Coeur d'Alene High, was named to the 2011 National Daktronics/NAIA Scholar-Athletes Academic All-American team with a 4.0 grade point average over the past two semesters. She also was named the national "Champion of Character" award winner for women's volleyball, which was chosen by the coaches of the Frontier Conference and received the 2011-12 Jim Trudnowski Memorial Award for her leadership, athletic accomplishments, academic standing and contributions to the community on behalf of Carroll College. In two seasons at Carroll, she has started every game at setter, helping the Saints qualify for the national tournament for only the second time in its history, and first since 1995.
Michael Hale

Hale, a junior from North Idaho College, started 24 of the Roadrunners' 31 games this season, averaging 9.9 points in 29.9 minutes a game. Hale had 99 assists and 40 steals for the Roadrunners, who finished 18-14.

Canitez, a junior from NIC, was named a Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-American after leading the Golden State Athletic Conference in scoring with 19.5 points a game and second in rebounding with 10.3 a game. Canitez also set school records in scoring (624 points), scoring average, field goals made (216), free throws made (177), rebounding (330) and rebounding average. Canitez had 13 points and 16 rebounds for the Warriors in a 66-61 loss in the semifinals of the NAIA Division I tournament.
Katelyn Loper

Loper, a sophomore from Post Falls, had eight points and three rebounds as the Pride fell to Harvard 73-71 in the opening round of the Women's NIT on Thursday in Hempstead, N.Y. Loper averaged 12.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in 27 games, including 20 starts for Hofstra, which finished 19-12.

Rosenthal, a freshman from Coeur d'Alene, had 11 rebounds and four points in the Gaels' 71-63 win over UNLV in the first round of the Women's NIT last Thursday at the McKeon Pavilion in Moraga, Calif. Rosenthal had nine rebounds and seven points for the Gaels in a 56-41 loss to Oregon State on Saturday in the second round in Corvallis, Ore. Saint Mary's finished 22-11.

Murray, a freshman from Coeur d'Alene, finished eighth in the hammer throw with a toss of 157 feet, 10 inches in the Dusty Lane Open on Saturday at the Community Colleges of Spokane.

Owsley, a sophomore transfer from NIC, had six rebounds and four points for the Bulldogs in a 100-85 season-ending loss to Concordia in the second round of the NAIA Division I tournament on Friday in Kansas City. Owsley appeared in 29 games, averaging 5.2 points and four rebounds a game to finish 25-10.

Ross, a redshirt sophomore from Lake City and NIC, went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and three runs scored in a 12-7 win over Puget Sound on Saturday in Spokane. Ross went 2 for 4 with four RBIs in a 10-9 win in the first game on Sunday to move her total to a team-high 17 RBIs for the Pirates (8-14).
