COEUR d'ALENE - One more makes nine.
Lake City Development Corp., the city's urban renewal agency, is expected to fill a vacant board seat today - an interim spot that became available after former member Charlie Nipp stepped down in the spring.
Eight people applied for the volunteer seat. The interim position expires in August, after which Mayor Sandi Bloem will appoint a full-time replacement.
Applicants are:
* John Austin, of Austin Consulting
* Frank Orzell, management consultant.
* Kyle Hendricks, vice president/manager, Idaho Independent Bank.
* Tina Johnson, downtown property owner and community volunteer
* Scott Cranston, of Scott Cranston Architects
* Joe Fabiano, vice president of commercial development, Windermere Commercial Realty
* Phil Provost, Resort City Inn owner and vice president Downtown Board of Directors
* Justin Druffel, Caterpillar, Inc. industry representative; and of J.D. Lakeshore, LLC.
"That's a great group to choose from," said Dave Patzer, LCDC member, in January after the application process closed.
The 8-member board should select its newest member at 4 this afternoon in the Community Room of the Coeur d'Alene Public Library.
The agency could also award a contract for Phase 1B of the Education Corridor infrastructure project. The project is slated to start in the spring, and would punch out River Avenue and connect it to Northwest Boulevard for around $1 million.
