In a story last week about rules for golf cars on public streets or roads, we had incorrect inspection dates for Desert Aire golfers.

The correct dates, provided by Desert Aire homeowners board member Gary Varney, are:

April 6 and April 21 from 8 a.m-12 p.m. at the Sagebrush Senior Center in Desert Aire.

Other dates may be added. And the sheriff's department will make itself available for groups of 10 or more. The expiration date for current registrations is June 30.

"Golf cart inspection will be required again for anyone wanting to legally drive on Desert Aire roads," Varney said.

Inspection is required even for carts that were inspected last year. Varney said Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones hopes to get that rule modified for future years.

"He hopes to get approval from Grant County commissioners to require a yearly inspection," Varney said.
