MOSES LAKE - Gov. Chris Gregoire appointed Anna C. Franz, of Lind, to the Big Bend Community College Board of Trustees effective March 15.

Franz will complete Katherine Kenison's unexpired term, which lasts until 2015. Kenison recently resigned after serving 13 years on the board.

Franz graduated from Big Bend as a Running Start student from Lind High School. She earned a bachelor's degree and a juris doctorate degree from the University of Washington. She is an associate attorney for Lernargie, Kenison, Wyman and Whitaker in Ephrata.

Big Bend President Bill Bonaudi welcomed the timely appointment by the Governor's Office. Big Bend has started a search for a new president and trustees need a full five-member board during the process, he said.
