Joyce A. Peterson, 84, of Coeur d’Alene, passed away March 20, 2012, in Post Falls. She was born Nov. 21, 1927, in Coeur d’Alene, to Andrew and Julia Larson.

She was a life-long resident of Coeur d’Alene and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School. Joyce was a member of St Luke’s Episcopal Church. She loved baking, sewing and embroidering and was an avid Mariners and Gonzaga fan. Joyce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Bobbie Peterson, of Rathdrum; daughters and sons-in-law, Chris and Doug Szafransky, of Rathdrum, Cathy and Andy Parker, of Post Falls, Julie and Todg Darnell, of Rathdrum, and 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Other survivors include sisters, Violet Anderson, of Oregon, and Shirley Miller, of Coeur d'Alene.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Oscar in 2001, a daughter Linda in 1999, and a granddaughter Suzanne in 1976.
