Young Royal teams sweep soccer matches

ROYAL CITY - The Columbia Basin FC hosted a Soccer Jamboree in Ephrata on Saturday, March 10, and two teams from Royal City experienced perfect success.

The U-8 (age 8 and under) Royal Dynamite and U-10 Royal Rockets were undefeated. Dynamite won three of three and Rockets won four of four games. Both teams were coached by Michelle Miller.

One dies in canal accident near Ephrata

EPHRATA – Kevin Kershaw, 55, of Yakima was attempting to drive his 2025 GMC Sierra on the canal road when he attempted to turn around and lost control of the vehicle Thursday. The vehicle slid into the canal and Kershaw was found deceased downstream from the vehicle.
