MOSES LAKE - The next major event on the calendar for area Republicans is the county convention on Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. until the close of business.
The convention will be held at the Wallenstein Theater in Moses Lake. The public is invited but there are only about 200 extra seats. An attempt will be made to fill them with party members.
On March 31, Dr. Matt Manweller, Republican candidate for 13th Legislative District State Representative, will be holding his Grant County Kickoff. It will start at 10 a.m. at the Moses Lake Event Center, which is located at South Campus off of Nelson Road.
On the last Thursday of the month, March 29, Grant County Republicans will hold their Central Committee Meeting at 7 p.m. at Time Out Pizza in Ephrata. They'll be discussing the National Committeeman and Committeewoman race in May.
These are the people who represent Washington's Republicans to the Republican National Committee. They'll also be appointing new precinct committee officers and other positions.

Kennewick woman killed in Othello-area collision
OTHELLO — A Kennewick woman was killed when she ran into a semitruck at the intersection of SR 26 and South Booker Road early Thursday morning.
State Route 26 closed due to fatality collision
OTHELLO — State Route 26 is closed due to a fatality collision between a car and a semitruck near South Booker Road about four miles east of Othello, according to information from the Washington State Patrol and the Washington Department of Transportation. The road was closed about 6:30 a.m., according to the WSDOT. This is a developing story and more information will be added as it becomes available.
Coeur d'Alene to host fair housing training
Event takes place at public library in October
In this spirit, the city of Coeur d’Alene will soon provide a free “Fair Housing and Hot Topics” training. Partnering with Intermountain fair Housing Council, the event is slated for noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Community Room, 702 E. Front Ave.
