Deputies investigate Quincy man's death

EPHRATA - Grant County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating the death of a man near Quincy.

Deputies responded to a report of an unexpected death at a residence on County Road K Northwest on Monday at about 9:20 a.m.

A man reported finding another man dead inside a home alongside a firearm, according to Grant County dispatchers.

The death was not witnessed, but at present the death appears to be a suicide, according to the Sheriff's office.

The case will remain open until Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison completes his investigation and makes an official ruling on the cause and manner of death.

Morrison will release the man's identity once next of kin have been notified.

One dies in canal accident near Ephrata

EPHRATA – Kevin Kershaw, 55, of Yakima was attempting to drive his 2025 GMC Sierra on the canal road when he attempted to turn around and lost control of the vehicle Thursday. The vehicle slid into the canal and Kershaw was found deceased downstream from the vehicle.
