TRIAL: Be fair to Army sergeant
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 13 years, 9 months AGO
Bearing in mind that we do not have all the facts, there is an ironic twist to the U.S. Army sergeant who killed all those Afghanistan civilians. The clamor from the Muslims and the American politicians is to try him quickly, execute him as soon as possible, disregarding his possible traumatic brain injury.
Army Major Hasan, who shot up Fort Hood while screaming “Allah Akbar,” still hasn’t stood trial and they are debating his sanity. There was clear evidence that his motive was to slay as many infidels as possible.
The sergeant in a war zone goes off the deep end and the government can hardly wait to see him buried. The Muslim psychiatrist, stateside in a nice safe office, murders 13 and wounds 29 of our own guys, and they try to argue that he had post-traumatic stress syndrome, from listening to real soldiers who had actual battle experience.
Two and a half years later, Major Hasan, a traitorous and murderous bastard, still hasn’t stood trial.
Before anyone starts in, I am appalled and sickened at what the sergeant has done and I do not condone it. What he did was horrific and not what American soldiers do. One cannot ever stop the individual from doing whatever they decide to do. We can all take solace from the fact that it is not and never has been the policy of this nation to condone or foster murder.
Anyone care to bet how long it will be before the sergeant stands trial?
