QUINCY - A Quincy man died after a three vehicle wreck Friday on state Route 281, three miles south of Quincy.
The 62 year-old man's name was not released by the Washington State Patrol during the weekend, because investigators were in the process of contacting his family members.
The man was driving a 2002 Kia Sportage when he reportedly hit a 1998 Freightliner semi in the rear, which was driven by Thomas Elstrom, 58, of Spokane, according to the state patrol.
Elstrom was not injured and able to drive his vehicle from the scene.
The Kia Sportage then allegedly spun into the northbound lane and was reportedly struck by a 1999 Mack box dump truck driven by Steven D. Yarnell, 64, of Spokane.
Yarnell was transported to Quincy Valley Hospital for medical care and his vehicle was totaled.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident, according to the state patrol.
