Robert Klepfer, 84

Bob Klepfer, 84, of Coeur d’Alene, died April 26, 2012. He was born in Mayport, Pa., on June 22, 1927. His parents were “Friday” and Isabel Klepfer. He grew up in Western Pennsylvania on the family farm. He attended Clarion Limestone High School. He married Austa Blair on May 8, 1954, in New Bethlehem, Pa.

He served in the Navy during the latter part of World War II and was honorably discharged on Aug. 22, 1946.

After getting married, they moved to Gibsonia, Pa., where he worked for Peoples Natural Gas Company in the Corrosion Department for 38 years. After retirement he moved back to Clarion, Pa. He enjoyed carving, hunting, fishing and gardening. Bob and Austa moved to Coeur d’Alene in 2005 to be closer to family. After coming to Coeur d’Alene, they started attending the Church of the Nazarene and met many people that became friends. They moved to Garden Plaza in Post Falls where they continued to make new friends.

Bob was a faithful follower of Christ, and served as a Deacon in Bakerstown Presbyterian Church and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church in Clarion. He loved the Lord and left a strong legacy of Christianity in his family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Austa Klepfer of Post Falls; sons, Marc Levier of Denver, Colo., and Eric Klepfer of Hayden; daughters-in-law, Mary LeVier of Denver and Debbie Klepfer of Hayden; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Amanda Bingman and husband T.J., Kelly Klepfer, Matt Klepfer, Major Ryan LeVier serving in Afghanistan, Kerry Daly, husband John and son Preston, Tim LeVier, wife Valerie and daughter Mia. He is also survived by six siblings, Reba and Charlie Musser, Mary and Charles Bish, Don and Jeanette Klepfer, Rayburn and Peg Klepfer, Gary and Debbie Klepfer, and Vic and Sharon Klepfer. Also he is survived by brothers-in-law, Ardell Blair and Alonzo Blair.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Bennett Minnick of Mayport, Pa.

The family requests any donations made in memory of Robert Klepfer to be given to the Coeur d’Alene Church of the Nazarene or The Alzheimer’s Association.
