The county is considering unloading Chilco Falls Park.
Minutes from several recent commissioners' meetings indicate they are moving forward with plans to sell the park located north of Hayden off U.S. 95.
According to the county's website, the park has no parking for vehicles or trailers, no boat launch and no other facilities.
Meeting minutes, Feb. 29
"After reviewing the Legal department’s analysis of the Chilco Park property, Ms. Nelson suggested that due to the property’s inaccessibility, the Board consider selling it at public auction and use the funds to improve other parks. The Board agreed that Legal may begin the process."
Meeting minutes, April 11
"Commissioner Nelson reported that Civil Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Pat Braden had been authorized to move forward with the two step process to sell the Chilco property. Also, Commissioner Nelson requested that the property be removed from the Parks & Waterways website because it is currently listed as a park and the County does not maintain the property for that purpose."
