The shops and motels in West Glacier aren’t for sale, Bill Lundgren said last week. The Lundgren family has owned the West Glacier Mercantile, gift shop, restaurant and motel going on 67 years.

A rumor had been going around that the West Glacier properties were being sold to Glacier Park Inc. Not true, Lundgren said last week.

“We just keep doing what we do,” he said.

GPI spokeswoman Alicia Thompson also said there was no sale. One of the original founding partners, Ev Lundgren, recently passed away, which may have been the genesis of the rumor.

GPI has recently expanded its holdings around Glacier National Park, acquiring the Lodge at St. Mary and Grouse Mountain Lodge, in Whitefish, last year.
