Grizzly golf tournament

The 13th annual Grizzlies Golf Classic Tournament will be held at The Eagle Bend Golf Course on Friday, May 18, beginning at noon.

The event utilizes a unique scramble-type format with six players on a team.

Members of the University of Montana-Missoula’s faculty, coaching staff and athletic department will be in attendance and play, including head football coach Jim Delaney, GSA director Greg Sunberg, men’s basketball coach Jono Metzger-Jones, head men’s tennis coach Kris Nord, head women’s tennis coach Steve Ascher and head women’s golf coach Emily Milberger.

Cost is $130 per golfer and includes lunch, cart, buffet dinner and a tee prize. Deadline for entry form and payment is Friday, May 11.

Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
