Ronald A. Hansen (aka Buddha), 68

Ron grew up in Post Falls where he attended Post Falls High School graduating in 1962 and went to Gonzaga University for a short while. He eventually started in labor services at Kaiser Aluminum Trentwood working his way to becoming an electrician. Ron worked at Kaiser for 39 years before retiring in 2003.

Ron married his high school sweetheart, Ramona Smith, in July 1965. They had three children together. ron enjoyed camping, traveling the Oregon coast, riding his motorcycle and he was a war history enthusiast. The last few years he cherished the time spent with his five grandchildren. Those who knew Ron also knew what an incredible handyman and tinkerer he was. If he could envision it he could build it.

He is survived by his wife, Ramona of Spokane; son Jim Hansen of Post Falls; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Terry Atkins of Post Falls; son Bill Hansen of St. Maries; and grandchildren, Michael, Taylor, Cass, Macey and baby Carsyn. He is also survived by his mother, Elise Hansen; sister Peggy Sprankle; and niece and nephew, Cyndy and Scot Sprankle.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Harold Hansen and brother Harry.

No services are planned.
