The Fishin' Magician: Grant County Fishing

Trout lakes performed very well throughout the region on the opening of the fishing season. Good weather played a part in angler participation, and although overall it looked like traffic was down compared to earlier years, thousands packed the campgrounds and parks in Eastern Washington.
In my last report I talked about the lakes in Okanogan County. In this report I will give you the results of some of the lakes in Grant County. Of the list of 17 lakes that were surveyed by the Department of Fish and Wildlife, I narrowed it down to the top ten.
Three Grant County lakes made the top ten with Deep Lake, just north of Park Lake, placing first. Anglers caught excellent numbers of rainbow in the 11- to 13-inch range and good numbers of triploids to 17 inches. Warden Lake, near Potholes Reservoir, placed second on the list, with limit numbers of 10- to 14-inch trout taken.
Park Lake also made the list, ranking seventh. The lake fished much better than the year before and anglers filled stringers with lots of 12- to 14-inch rainbow with many 15- and 16-inch fish mixed in the catch.

I had a great experience the other day. I had stopped by Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee and ran into someone that I knew from Lake Chelan.
