ANNIVERSARIES

Reid and Judy Walker

65th Anniversary

Reid and Judy Walker celebrated 65 years of marriage on May 1, 2012.

The were married in Coeur d'Alene on May 1, 1947. Judy came from Atlanta, Ga., where Reid had met her on his way to Japan as private in the Army.

Reid retired from the city of Coeur d'Alene after 33 years of service as the street superintendent, Public Works and the Corporate Shop Supervisor in 1984. Reid supervised three crews, with three budgets and three groups of employees.

Judy retired in 1983 from Clair Pendar/General Instruments she worked as the supervisor of the lens department teaching engraving and assembly. Then worked in Tool & Dye as an engraver until she retired. She engraved some of the first keyboard prototypes for computers and engraved the instrument panels for the first space shuttle to the moon receiving a letter of commendation from the vice president of the United States. She also engraved panels for the first Boeing 747 airplanes.

Reid and Judy are blessed with good health. They have four grown daughters, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. They now reside in their own home in Clarkston, Wash. (for the last 15 years).

Larry and Judy Borgestrom Newton

50th Anniversary

Larry and Judy Borgestrom Newton, of Coeur d'Alene, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on May 18, 2012. They were married on May 18, 1962.

Larry retired as a Eastside Highway Foreman and Judy is retired from GTE. Their children include, Michael Newton of Coeur d'Alene, and Dave and Teresa Newton Stewart of Coeur d'Alene. They have three grandchildren.

Dean and Laura Eisenbarth

50th Anniversary

Dean and Laura Eisenbarth will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on May 19, 2012. They were married May 19, 1962, in Coeur d'Alene.

Dean was employed for 42-plus years at Avista and Laura was a legal secretary for 32-plus years. Dean and Laura have six children and 33 grandchildren.

A celebration will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Toro Viejo in downtown Coeur d'Alene. The celebration will be hosted by daughters, Diane and her husband David Schmidt, Dona and her husband John Miller, and Linda Sandeno; sons, Lon and wife Dianne Jones, and Larry and his wife Rita.

ENGAGEMENT

Pickett-Smatlan

Tim Pickett and Susan MacGlashan of Salem, Ore., announce the engagement of their daughter, Meghan Kathleen Pickett to Gregory Edward Smatlan, son of Edward and Wendy Smatlan of Hayden.

The future bride is a graduate of Western Oregon University with a degree in education. Her fiance is pursuing a master's degree in music education at Oregon State University.

A June 2012 wedding in Salem, Ore., is planned. The couple will live in Corvallis, Ore.

BIRTHS

Colton Jaxon Rehard was born at 7:48 p.m. April 16, 2012, to AnnaLeasha and Brett Rehard of Coeur d'Alene. He weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. and was 20.75 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Rob and Kate Mason. Paternal grandparents are Stan Darlas and Christy Sabo.

Natyli Ann Poole was born at 10:46 a.m. April 20, 2012, to Ashley Ann Batt and Jacob Anthony Poole of Coeur d'Alene. She weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz. and was 21 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Leon Batt and Toddy Batt. Paternal grandparents are Matthew Poole and Amber Benson.
