The Glacier Twins continue to search for their first win of the season following a pair of losses to the Bitterroot Red Sox on Sunday at Memorial Park in Whitefish. Missed opportunities at the plate plagued the Twins in the doubleheader.

In the first game, Bitterroot posted four runs in the second inning, which proved to be the difference in the game. The Twins had a good chance to rally early but left two runners stranded in the fourth. Shane Marcial was solid at the plate, going 2-for-4. Robert Simmons tallied a pair of RBIs to lead the club.

The Twins were shutout in the nightcap after leaving the bases loaded in the sixth inning.

“We couldn’t do the little things,” Twins coach Scott Murray said. “We paid a price for it.”

Garrett Houston and Bryce Wehrli were solid on the mound, combining for a five-hitter. Murray says the team is making progress.

“It’s coming around,” he said. “We’re moving ahead. We believe in ourselves. We just have to work a little harder to get it done.”

The Twins travel to Helena on May 12 for a nonconference doubleheader, then host a doubleheader with Calgary on Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
