REPOSITORY: Time to question 'facts'

While Alecia Warren’s article on the Mission Repository was good, several questions remain troubling.

Don Carpenter from IDEQ said that monitoring is ongoing yet the only record of this is once in 2008 and once in 2011. The reposts showed that the water leaving the repository was more contaminated than what entered it. EPA regulations prohibit building toxic dump sites in a flood plain, yet this is exactly what you have at Cataldo. It appears that the information being disseminated by IDEQ and EPA is not factual. Based on my observations of this situation over many years I can only conclude that it is intentionally being misstated.

The current approach is toxic and only permanent waste removal technology will serve the end to continual pollution.

The effort needs to be focused on public health for those living in the area and downstream and the current approach is far from this.
