Kootenai County Clerk Cliff Hayes is reminding all voters, candidates and recall petitioners about the law against electioneering at the polls during Tuesday's election.

“Idaho Code 18-2318 precludes anyone from engaging in any practice which could interfere with voters’ freedom or disrupts voting administration,” Hayes said, in a statement sent out by his office. “This law establishes a 100-foot radius for that interference.”

“We’ve instructed all the precinct judges that they are to ask the person doing electioneering to abide by the 100-foot rule, and then the precinct judge is to call the Elections office. If need be, we will ask law enforcement to assist us in enforcing this 100-foot rule on Tuesday.”
