Primary election Tuesday

The primary election is Tuesday and voters can vote at their precinct from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters who have not claimed a party must proclaim an affiliation at the polls and will receive a ballot for that affiliation.

Local candidates are:

For the race of Boundary County Sheriff running to keep his office is Greg Sprungl (R) and those running against him are Shane Foutch (D); Jeff Ennis (R) and Gary Leonard (I)

Vying for Boundary County Commissioner seats are Lee Alan Pinkerton (R) Dist 1; Ron Smith (R) Dist 1; Connie DeCoer-Munier (R) Dist 3; and Dan Dinning (R) Dist 3.

For committeeman in Bonners Ferry/Kootenai precinct are Charles Jason Thomas (D) and Larry DeVoer (R).

In the committeeman race in Naples precinct Stephen Howlet (D); Robert Pluid (R); Ken Carter (R) and Chris Ketner (R).

Committeeman candidates in N. Bonners Ferry precinct Greg Johnson (D); Walter Barrow (R) and David Jurgenson (R).

Running for committeeman in Copeland precinct Tim Dillin (R) and Donna Standley (R).

In the race for committeeman in Moyie Springs precinct Delia Owens (D) and Terry Capurso (R).

And finally in the Valley View precinct running for committeemen Debbie Flory (D); Linda Alt (R) and Rick Dodd (R).

Boundary County Prosecutor Jack Douglas (R) is running unopposed.
