Goodnight Venus plays Iron Horse

Local talent will be on display - nice and loud, just the way you like it - when Goodnight Venus debuts its latest album Thursday, May 17 at Iron Horse Bar & Grill in downtown Coeur d'Alene.
"It's a passionate record, kind of heavy," said singer, songwriter and guitarist Darin Schaffer. "We'll be playing songs about the Illuminati, human nature and evil scorpion women. You know, that sort of thing."
Goodnight Venus features Schaffer, a key member of Moments of Clarity who went on to record several solo albums, with bassist Tony Farris and former Black Happy drummer Scott Jessick. The album, called "The Me Show," includes 13 songs and will be on sale at the concert for $10. There is no admission charge.
The production is all-local. The album was co-produced with Mike Koep, and the artwork was done by Ali of AHA.
Also performing Thursday night is another local band, The Static Tones. Music begins at 9 p.m. The Iron Horse is located at 407 Sherman Ave.; phone 667-7314.
