Bad driving sends officer out on call

Saturday evening, a caller reported seeing a suspected drunk driver in a truck driving over curbs on North Meridian Road. When a woman got out of the truck to help push it off a curb the man driving ran her over, the caller said.

A Kalispell Police Department officer found the truck on 10th Street West and advised that the woman was OK and had not been run over.

Someone reported an elderly man standing in the middle of the road at West Wyoming Street and Seventh Avenue West North.

Two men were reportedly fighting outside a bar on West Idaho Street, but separated before police arrived.

Later that evening, a three-car wreck near Airport Road and South Main Street blocked traffic but everyone was OK.

A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody by store employees for shoplifting. His mother picked him up at the store.

Someone reported seeing a teenage boy in a yellow shirt firing sticks at other children with a bow near the swimming pool. Officers were unable to locate the boy but found a bow and collected it.

Police opened a vehicle with an 18-month-old child locked inside it on West Reserve Drive.

A man was arrested for driving under the influence and outstanding warrants after a traffic stop on U.S. 2.

Kids were throwing eggs at cars from an overpass. An officer found eggs on the railroad tracks but was unable to locate the suspects.

A man was arrested for partner-family member assault when police responded to a call on North Meridian Road.

Early Sunday, a man was arrested for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident after allegedly hitting a parked car on Fourth Street West and then fleeing.

Someone threw a rock through a church window on Third Avenue East.

Police were looking for two men accused of stealing doughnuts and Twinkies from a store on Third Avenue East North and fleeing on foot.

A woman was arrested for drunk driving and another woman was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol after a traffic stop at Eighth Avenue West and Third Street West.

Later Sunday morning, someone reported a vehicle broken into on Hawthorn Avenue.

A woman on Blue Crest Drive found a wallet in her front yard. An officer advised it had been stolen from a vehicle.

A man on Fourth Avenue East found a debit card in his yard. Police retrieved it.

Someone took a stop sign, pole and all, from the intersection of First Avenue East and 10th Street East.

Later Sunday afternoon, a money bag was stolen from a cafeteria on Sunny View Lane.

Someone reported a theft on U.S. 93 to the Whitefish Police Department on Saturday afternoon.

Criminal mischief was reported on Spokane Avenue.

Someone on Armory Road reported hearing shots fired.
