Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 13 years, 7 months AGO
We are sorry to say good-bye to our father, grandfather, husband, uncle, brother and friend. Jim V. Selzler suddenly passed away on May 6, 2012, while visiting loved ones in Las Vegas. We will all miss him now that he rests in peace in God’s Kingdom. Jim is now sitting in heaven with his son Jay and catching up on all their lost years together. On Memorial Day, 1982 Jim’s son Jay was tragically killed while serving in the U.S. Navy and laid to rest in Jay’s hometown in Ramona, Calif.
Jim currently lived in the area of his hometown of Coeur d’Alene. Jim worked as a well respected real estate agent with Treaty Rock Reality in Post Falls and he spent much of his spare time with family and friends. Jim was also a member of the American Legion Post 143 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles; Jim truly enjoyed time spent with his Veteran Military buddies. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1960 and during his service, he spent an 18-month tour in Korea. Jim has lived in many places throughout his life, but he truly enjoyed returning home to his childhood family in Idaho in 1996.
Jim was a wonderful family man who was always proud of his children and grandchildren and continually looked forward to family visits.
Jim is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one sister, Mary and husband Jim Irving; three brothers, Lee and Darline Selzler, Leonard and Pam Selzler, and Johnny Selzler; three daughters, Kathy and husband Bill Bragg, Valinda and husband Kevin Mearkle, Diana and husband Curt Norgaard; and son Mark and wife Michele Lemon; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
May Jim rest in peace forever. We will all miss his kind smiling face, warm heart, and his gentle words of wisdom about life.
