MOSES LAKE - Eight wanted felons were captured Thursday when the U.S. Marshal's Joint Task Force conducted a sweep of Grant County.

Task force officers included members of the Grant County Sheriff's Office, Moses Lake Police Department, Spokane's Washington Department of Corrections division and federal special agents.

The teams met for a morning briefing in Moses Lake before heading out to arrest active felons from the Moses Lake, Soap Lake and Quincy areas, according to Sheriff's spokesman Kyle Foreman, on Friday. The first four targeted felons were captured and jailed before noon, he said.

The following wanted felons were booked during the operation: Daniel B. Clark, 46, of Moses Lake, on a Department of Corrections detention order; Glen D. Collins, 49, of Moses Lake, on a Department of Corrections detention order; Emilio Padilla Garibay, Jr., 39, of Moses Lake, on a warrant for failure to appear in court for charges of third degree driving while license suspended and a warrant for possession of heroin; Israel Elias Valdez, 33, of Moses Lake, on a warrant for failure to pay child support; Joseph D. Byrd, 29, of Quincy, on a Department of Corrections detention order; Todd Rickman Charter, 42, of Soap Lake, on a warrant for failure to pay child support; Darwin Gene Overby, 42, of Moses Lake, on a Department of Corrections detention order; and Christopher Michael Jones, 39, of Moses Lake, on a warrant for bribery.
