Motorists can now travel to Kintla and Bowman Lakes in the North Fork of Glacier National Park as those roads opened last week. The Inside North Fork Road is also now open south to Logging Creek. Between Logging Creek and Fish Creek the road is still closed.
The Going-to-the-Sun Road is open on the west side to Avalanche Creek and on the east side to Jackson Glacier Overlook. The Chief Mountain Road is now open and the border was scheduled to open May 15.
Park plows are working at Triples Arches and beyond on the west side as they near Logan Pass. On the east side plows are near the East Side Tunnel.
Hiker/biker access is limited on the Sun Road until 6 p.m. on the west side beyond Avalanche Creek because of road construction. On the east side, hiker/biker access is one mile beyond the gate at Jackson Glacier overlook.
On the weekends and after 6 p.m. on weekdays hiker-biker access on the west side is allowed much further up the road to near Haystack Creek.
