Nancy Gordley, a 17-year member of the Flathead Valley Community College Foundation Board and owner of Great Harvest Bread Co. in Kalispell, received the college’s Eagle Award for outstanding contributions to the college.

President Jane Karas made the presentation at the 17th annual President’s Donor Dinner on May 10, citing Gordley’s leadership on the foundation board that has raised millions of dollars for scholarships and other projects.

Karas said Gordley served in key roles for fundraising events that have helped the foundation grow by $50,000 annuals for the last six years.

Karas recognized Gordley’s service as chairwoman of the Foundation’s Building for Success campaign.

“Through this person’s dedicated efforts, the dream of our college’s Occupational Trades Building, Arts and Technology Building and Early Childhood Center came true,” Karas said.

Karas acknowledged Gordley for establishing an endowed scholarship fund in her late husband’s honor.

“Her dedication to the future of FVCC and to the futures of our students speaks volumes and has been influential to other Foundation Board members,” she said. “With her leadership, the Board has continued to function as a highly-effective unit to bring the best of the college to the community and the best of the community to the college.”

Bill and Lois McClaren won the award last year.

The recipient’s name is engraved on a gold plate mounted under  the sculpture of a soaring bald eagle, the college’s symbol, permanently displayed in the foyer of Blake Hall on campus.
