MOSES LAKE - The Weinstein Beverage Company marked the completion of its new warehouse building Monday.

Pat Weinstein, owner and CEO of the company, and Mike Conley, president of the Port of Moses Lake Commission, cut the ribbon on the company's new cross-dock warehouse. Attendees of the ribbon-cutting ceremony included Weinstein employees, community and business leaders, and employees of Halme Builders, Inc., the Davenport contractor that built the warehouse.

The 12,500-square-foot metal building is located in the Larson district of Moses Lake. Weinstein is relocating its operations from another warehouse leased from the port. The new warehouse will increase the company's efficiency in processing large and small shipments for local distribution.

The Weinstein Beverage Company, which is based in Wenatchee, employs approximately 125 people and has operated from Port of Moses Lake facilities for more than 30 years.

"We've always been a part of Moses Lake," said Weinstein.

Weinstein Beverage Company has existed since 1937 and has had a location in the Columbia Basin ever since, he said. Since then, the Columbia Basin has been a critical part of the company's business, as it is the area with the greatest growth.

"We've been happy to retain (Weinstein) here at the port 30 years ... Here's to another 30 years," said Conley. "Pat and his wife, Susan, have been really great supporters of this community and great supporters of (Big Bend Community College)."

Pat and Susan donate annually to the Intervention Scholarship Program at the college. The program, which they helped develop, assists students facing financial emergencies, allowing them to stay in school. Hundreds of students have benefited from the fund since 2007.
