Police investigate storage unit burglaries

COEUR d'ALENE - On April 28, several storage-unit burglaries occurred overnight at Coeur d'Alene Place Self Storage located at 5850 N. Atlas Road, Coeur d'Alene police said.
The manager told police she was called by another employee, who had found several locks cut off storage units throughout the complex.
The employee said she responded to the business and reviewed the video surveillance system.
She said at 11:56 p.m. on the security tape she observed three males walking through the complex.
All three were wearing dark hoodie sweatshirts and dark clothing.
She further said she observed the three walking through the complex until approximately 4:30 that morning.
She also said at one point, at 1:29 a.m. on the tape, she saw the three males standing next to one of the storage buildings and drawing a map in the dirt of the storage complex, police said in a news release Wednesday.
There also are several times where the suspects are seen approaching storage units and they appear to be cutting the locks on the units with a bolt cutter.
The suspects cut through a chain-link fence to gain access to the storage complex, police said.
The next day, employees discovered severalrecreational vehicles stored there were entered and damaged as well.
There are multiple victims to these crimes and various items were taken. Once a list of items is compiled it will be made available, police said.
Detectives are still in the process of contacting victims and do not have a total value of items taken at this time, police said.
