Top seeds move on at tennis divisionals

POLSON — There were no surprises on the first day of play at the Northwestern A divisional tennis tournament on Thursday at Linderman Court.

All the No. 1 seeds won — Whitney Zimmerman and Brady Hislop, both of Polson, in singles and Mackenzie Clay and Mollybeth Hendrix of Polson and Parker Johnson and Miroslav Zyvagelskiy of Columbia Falls in doubles.

Play will resume with semifinal and consolation action today and end with championship and consolation championship matches.

No team totals were available for the first day. The Polson girls and Libby boys are defending divisional champions.

The top four singles players and doubles teams advance to state next week in Great Falls.
