FRIEND
You are in every room, where I live and breathe,
Your angels are with me to help me succeed.
Your compassion speaks in volumes in many things that you do,
And sometimes you give me the strength to make it through.
God gave you wisdom, that broadens through the years,
Just so you can help people and others who are suffering or have many tears. You have a gracious heart and a soul to match,
but there's so much more; God made you special, for reason to be,
that you be one of his angels, when he has the need.
So just keep on being exactly who you are and
God will hold you highly in the heavenly stars.

MY BELOVED'S PEACE
When mem'ry loss invades the minds
Of folks well on in years,
It takes away their joy of life,
And thinking disappears.
Away, so far, my dear one's life
Descends, now courting fear,
Her thoughts but shadows of the past
Bring haunting troubles near.
But deep and loving talks about
The unrest in her heart
Reveal to thoughts upsetting her,
A pathway to depart.
It's then she knows the presence of
Our Lord and His great Arm
Of Love, infusing deep within His peace which casts out harm.
How gratefully we feel His Love,
His cleansing of her soul,
For only God can bring about
That time when Peace enfolds.
So, "Peace that passes understanding"
is holding her secure;
She gives to God her ev'ry breath
His Spirit to incur.
Writer's note: My dear one, my wife, is losing the battle of Alzheimer's. She means more to me than life itself.

SUMMER
The iris blooming all over the place.
The sounds and the sights of summer are here.
The robins are bathing and singing their song. My squirrel is just quietly running along.
He flies through the air, with the greatest of ease. Just like the man on the flying trapeze.
So we changed all the feeders and hung them up high.
But my cute little squirrel has learned how to fly!
The feeder is down again, seeds on the ground.
Looks like my buddy has won one more round.
