The Fishin' Magician: Trippin' with the Triploids Derby
FishingMagician.com | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 12 years, 5 months AGO
The first annual Trippin' with the Triploids Derby in Bridgeport was a huge success. The weather was perfect and the 235 anglers that entered the derby had a fantastic time. Lots of fish were brought into the weigh station at Willow Point on Rufus Woods Reservoir.
The majority of the triploids caught were in the 1- to 3-pound class, but Gary Erickson landed an 8-pound, 6-ounce triploid to take first place. He won a Scotty downrigger, a fly rod and $250.00. The youth division winner was Conner Jenkins, with a 5-pound, six-ounce triploid. He took home a U-Tube for his prize. Gary Erickson was also the winner of the heaviest stringer award at 11 pounds, 9 ounces and pocketed an additional $250.00.
Everyone that entered the derby received a T-shirt and enjoyed a terrific BBQ prior to the awards ceremony. The derby organizers did an excellent job, making sure everyone had a great time and all agreed that there will be a second annual Trippin' with the Triploids Derby.
Be sure to check the dates for other fishing derbies and kids events on my Home Page. There are several coming up very soon.

I had a great experience the other day. I had stopped by Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee and ran into someone that I knew from Lake Chelan.
