Chicken-eating grizzly brothers moved

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks report that two young male grizzly bears were caught last week near Lake of the Woods, east of Kalispell.
The bears had been seen in a residential area for 3-4 days and had crawled under a fence and killed eight chickens. Grizzly bear management specialist Tim Manley set two culvert traps and caught the bears the evening of May 16.
Manley said the two 2-1/2 year old bears likely were siblings that recently went out on their own. The bears weighed 167 and 176 pounds, respectively.
The grizzlies were released in the Trout Lake area along Hungry Horse Reservoir on May 17.
