Frances Yvonne (Letchet) Gillies passed away May 19, 2012. She was born Sept. 8, 1924, to Dora and Frank Letchet in Luseland, Saskatchewan.
In 1926 the family moved to Coeur d’Alene and then moved to Wallace in 1929 where she attended Our Lady of Lourdes Academy through the eighth grade. She graduated from Wallace High School in 1942. Fran married Thomas Gillies in 1950 and he passed away in 1993. She worked for her parents at Cam’s Ladies Apparel until their death at which time she took over the store until she retired in 1986. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of NABA for many years.
Fran is survived by five children, Randy Gillies of Santa Clarita, Calif., Cheri Seal of Spokane, Rick Gillies of Tehachapi, Calif., Rob Gillies of Kingston and Ron Gillies of Spokane. She is also survived by her brother, Norm Letchet and her sister, Mary Ann (Sis) Badgley, both of Osburn. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom and her, sister Victoire.
Visitation will be held from 10-7 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012, and from 9-5 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 214 Pine St., Wallace.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Shoshone County Food Bank or Nine Mile Cemetery in Wallace.
