Basketball season may be over, but the ball is still in the court for Northshore Hoop Camp at Bigfork High School gym. For the last three summers boys and girls from kindergarten through eighth-grade spend a week learning about fundamentals with BHS basketball coaches Kurt Paulson and Mark Hanson

“We are excited to hold the third annual co-ed camp the week after school is out this year,” Hanson said. “Last year we had an unbelievable turnout, the kids had a great time and so did the coaches. We used our high school players to help run the camp and coach the kids, and it really is neat for the younger kids as they look up to the high school players.”

Registration deadline is June 1 to guarantee a camp t-shirt, but walk-ups are welcome and participants do not have to be enrolled in Bigfork Schools to participate.

“It is very important to get kids excited for the game of basketball at a young age,” Paulson said. “This camp is an excellent opportunity to do just that.”

The camp goes from June 11-14 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Cost for participation is $85 per camper, $150 for two or $225 for three.

For more information or a registration form, contact Paulson at 439-6960 or [email protected] or Coach Hansen at 253-7576 or [email protected]. Registration forms can be mailed to Northshore Hoop Camp PO Box 2552 Bigfork, MT 59911.

“Learning the skills of the game before high school is essential for a program’s success,” Paulson said. “With the help of some great camp coaches we will provide a fun experience for these kids and their week of camp will be a positive one.”
