Morley wins two at State B

Bigfork High School freshman Makena Morley won two events at the Class B state meet in Bozeman on May 25 and 26. Overall, the Vals placed fifth at state with 30 of the 33 points earned by Morley. The Vikes placed 21st with four points.
Nobody even came close to keeping up with Morley in the 3,200-meter run. Morley’s time was 11:02.97 and second place’s time was 11:25.41.
Morley also won the 800-meter run with 2:18.35. Second place’s time was 2:23.11.
Austin Cantrell placed fourth in shot put with 47-5.5, just barely behind third place’s 47-6, but well ahead of fifth place’s 47-1.75.
Taylor Peck placed fifth in the javelin with 120-3.
Coach Sue Loeffler was not available to comment in time for publication.

The visual arts will be taking a step back next week as Bigfork hosts guitar masters from around the world and rising performers looking to share knowledge of the art as well as have their music heard during the third annual Crown of the Continent Guitar Workshop and Festival.

Bigfork MSU Bobcat faces assault charges
Bigfork native and Montana State University football player, Donald Tudahl, 21, pleaded not guilty at Flathead District Court on Aug. 2 to a felony charge of aggravated assault.
