Coeur d'Alene Sting under-15 girls (Hogan): The Sting beat Super Nova on penalty kicks to win the championship at the Idaho State Cup last weekend in Boise.

The game was tied at 1 after regulation and overtime, with Alissa Jolliff scoring for the Sting. Piper Glover, Sarah Lambert, Megan Lowery and Aitana Vernon scored in the shootout for the Sting.

Earlier, the Sting beat Xtreme 4-0, as Alissa Jolliff scored two goals, and Megan Lambert and Maddison Ward each scored once. The Sting tied BNSC Valencia 0-0, then beat BNSC Alemania 2-0 on goals from Aitana Vernon and Natalie Wheelock.

Prior to that, the Sting went undefeated in winning the WSYSA District 6, and placed fourth in the Puget Sound U15 Super League.

Sting U14 girls gold: The Sting won the Idaho State Cup for the second year in a row last weekend in Boise, beating Super Nova of Boise 1-0 in Monday's title game.

The Sting opened Friday with a 6-0 victory over Pocatello, with Sydney Quimby and Halle Eborall each scoring twice, and Zoie Cloutier and Cyd Roop each scoring once.

On Saturday the Sting beat Lewiston 9-0. Syd Roop scored a had trick, Sydney Quimby and Halle Eborall each scored twice, and Nicole Mitten and Alex Boifeuillet each scored once.

In Sunday's semifinals the Sting beat FC Nova 4-0, on goals by Caitlin Barber, Zoie Cloutier, Cyd Roop and Sydney Quimby.

In Monday's title game, Nicole Mitten of the Sting scored the lone goal on a header, off a corner kick by Caitlin Barber.

Goalkeepers Julia Roach and Sami Lane teamed to allow just one goal in the tournament.

Sting U16 boys: The Sting lost to Super Nova 1-0 on a free kick in its first game at the Idaho State Cup in Boise.

On Saturday the Sting beat Boise Real. Tristin Lowery and Kyle Higgins each scored for the Sting, and Brett Dickman and Kenny Randall had assists.

In their first game Sunday, the Sting tied the Idaho Premier. Later that day, the Sting beat Nike Rush 4-1. Vince Cavalin scored two goals, Kenny Randall scored once, and Tanner Horton scored on a penalty kick. Kenny Randall and Brett Dickman had assists.

Lakeland Nighthawks U13 boys (McDevitt): The Nighthawks won the District 6 Umbro Division with a 7-0-1 record.

Nighthawks U13 girls (McLeskey): The Nighthawks won the District 6 Adidas Division championship with a 6-0-2 record.

Nighthawks U10 girls (Higbee): The Nighthawks beat the Coeur d'Alene Sting Sounders 4-2 on May 17 at Hayden Meadows. Makenna Smith scored a hat trick and Brianna Christensen scored once. Zoe Potter scored two goals, Julieanna Stith one.

The Nighthawks beat the Idaho Thunder 4-1 on May 19 at River City Middle School. Zoe Potter scored two goals, Makenna Smith and Kaylie Higbee one each.

The Nighthawks edged the Coeur d'Alene Sting Whitecaps 1-0 on May 22 at Hayden Meadows. Ashley Toledo scored with an assist from Darby McDevitt. Kaylie Higbee and Ashley Toledo teamed for the shutout in goal.

Sting Timbers U10 girls: The Timbers lost 2-1 to the Sting Whitecaps in their season finale last Thursday at Hayden Meadows. Emma Ramage scored the lone goal for the Timbers, who finished 3-4.

TRACK AND FIELD

Post Falls Youth Track Camp: Post Falls High coaches are putting on a camp June 11-14 at the high school for boys and girls entering grades 2-9 this fall.

Warmup each day is at 8:30 a.m. A free breakfast is offered each day at 8 a.m., as is a free lunch at noon. A track and field meet for all campers is scheduled for the final day at 9:30 a.m.

Cost is $45 for the first family member; $25 for each additional camper in the family. Cost includes a T-shirt and daily snack. Information and registration forms are available at all Post Falls elementary and middle schools. Registration will also be accepted June 11 at the first day of camp at 7:30 a.m.

Youth tennis registration: The Coeur d' Alene Recreation Department will be holding registration for youth tennis classes June 110 at the rec department office, located at 710 Mullan Avenue.

Registration is limited. Classes will start June 12 and will run for four weeks. Classes will be held twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings. A second session will start July 10.

Classes will be held at the Lake City High School tennis courts located on Ramsey Road. Students must supply their own tennis racket and a can of balls. Cost for eight lessons is $30.

Youth golf lessons: The Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department is offering beginner golf lessons. These are instructional in nature.

Two sessions are offered; the first session will begin on June 11; the second session will begin July 9. Classes are held twice a week for three weeks.

Classes are held on Monday and Wednesday mornings or Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at Ponderosa Springs Golf Course. All equipment is provided.

Registration fee is $45.
