"Living Healthy" topic for Royal seniors

ROYAL CITY - "Living Healthy" will be presented by Aging and Adult Care of Central Washington on Thursday, June 7, from 1 - 2:30 p.m. at the Royal City Community Center.

Ina O'Connor, R.N., will share new ways to live healthy and to prevent disease and disability. There will be a question and answer time. All area residents are invited.

In an effort to expand its outreach, Royal Slope Seniors is inviting speakers and bringing programs of interest to area residents.

The "Living Healthy" program will follow the regular first-Thursday-of-the-month potluck luncheon. The Royal City Community Center is located at 13702 Dodson Road South.

Royal Slope Seniors has elected new officers and board members and revised its by-laws from 1985. The organization is looking for new members and welcomes ideas.

A Moses Lake attorney will discuss elder law at the August meeting.

Collision kills driver near Quincy

QUINCY — Adams Road near Quincy was closed for about three and a half hours Wednesday afternoon due to a collision between a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The car’s driver was killed in the crash. The collision occurred at about 12:45 p.m., according to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, between Road 5 Northwest and Road 6 Northwest. The driver’s name was withheld pending notification of family members, said Kyle Foreman, GCSO public information officer. The case is still under investigation.

OTHELLO — An Othello man was placed under arrest on suspicion of attempted first-degree assault after a dispute at an Othello-area business escalated to gunfire.
