Donations sought for young accident victim's funeral

Friends and family are raising money to fund funeral expenses for a young woman who died in a car crash on Friday that claimed the lives of two people.

Kami L. Edmonson, 21, of Hayden, died when the 1999 Toyota Corolla she was driving southbound on U.S. 95 collided with a 2003 Lincoln Town Car just south of Coeur d'Alene.

Idaho State Police said Truman R. Jackson Jr., 63, Coeur d'Alene, was traveling northbound on U.S. 95, just south of Kidd Island Bay Road, at 2:24 p.m. when his vehicle crossed the center line for unknown reasons. Both drivers died at the scene.

Edmonson previously worked at the Wolf Lodge restaurant.

"Kami touched many lives and she will live on forever in the hearts of her loved ones," wrote a friend.

Donations for Edmonson's family to help with funeral costs are being collected at the Wolf Lodge, 11741 E. Frontage Road, about 8 miles east of Coeur d'Alene. Donations can be dropped off weekdays starting at 5 p.m. and weekends starting at 4.

Edmonson's funeral is scheduled 10 a.m. Saturday in Pinehurst.
