Man who fired shots at tires arrested

A dispute between a common law husband and wife drew a response from the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office after a handgun came into the equation.
According to a release from Sheriff Chuck Curry, Eric Brush, 34, Kalispell, fired two to three rounds into the tires of a truck that his wife was trying to leave in. The couple’s 2-year-old son was also in the truck at the time.
No one was injured, and Brush was arrested without incident. He was preliminarily charged with felony counts of assault with a weapon and criminal endangerment.
The incident remains under investigation.
A man was reported for posting very graphic pictures on a Facebook page for new and used items in the Flathead that may be of a woman being sexually assaulted.
A woman reported that she believes someone has been drugging her, but that she feels OK now. Based on her suspicions, she took a drug test, which came back positive for methamphetamine.
A kind-hearted middle school student found $300 in a field behind a friend’s house and turned it in to the school principal.
A blade-loving man and woman in their early 20s drew quite a bit of attention after taking a tip from a table in a U.S. 2 East restaurant in Kalispell. When confronted, the man displayed a knife to the employee without the blade extended. After going into the bathroom, the man came back out and returned the tip. As the couple left, the employee noticed that the woman was carrying her own blade — a samurai sword.
A helpful passerby wanted to know if the owner of a herd of cows would be liable to some minor damage to his vehicle after he used it to help move the cows off U.S. 93 South in Kalispell while aiding a county animal control officer.
A suspicious man was reported walking behind a casino on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell using a flashlight to look at locks on vehicles.
A quick-thinking motorist had to merge onto the shoulder of Montana 40 West near Columbia Falls after coming up on a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road.
A Haskill Basin Road resident in Whitefish reported someone had been vandalizing his mailbox. He was advised to try using a game trail camera to catch the vandal.
A feline-friendly Mountain Drive resident in Hungry Horse reported there was a bear in her yard and that she was worried for the welfare of her 14-year-old cat. She said the bear had been hanging around the area for a week.
Jewelry was stolen from a Broken Wheel Loop home, where a neighboring house was also burglarized.
A bizarre love triangle caught the attention of the Kalispell Police Department Wednesday.
A renter on Bluestone Drive contacted the department after the owner of the rental unit showed up to confront one of the renter’s roommates about sleeping with her husband, the maintenance man. The claim was determined to be unfounded when it was discovered that the man had sent the roommate “flirty” texts but that the roommate had not responded to them.
The renters were advised to call the property management company to request a different maintenance man and to have the locks changed. They were also told to call back if the woman returned.
Two reports of smashed pumpkins came in on Wednesday. The first was reported on 12th Street East, where a woman said someone threw the pumpkins off her patio. The second was reported on Green Briar Drive, where a person drove up in a truck and smashed 20 pumpkins in a driveway and throughout the development.
A violent 15-year-old boy was counseled after choking a woman who had showed up at the Sixth Avenue East home to pick up her son to take him to school.
A surprised customer at a motel reported that a man had come through her window and kicked her television.
Shoplifters were apprehended at businesses on First Avenue East North and U.S. 93 North.

A lazy thief was arrested after he was seen breaking a car window on Central Avenue. Police found him still sitting in the car.

A man who preached on Central Avenue during Halloween festivities called the police department for help increasing the reach of his message, telling them he “wants to use the megaphone.”
The Columbia Falls Police Department made several arrests on Wednesday.
A man was arrested and taken to jail after fighting with everyone in a Seventh Street West house, leaving, then coming back and “busting through the bedroom door.” He also told people at the home that he was willing to go to jail.
A man was arrested for a warrant after returning to a home where the resident reported someone had broken in and left a knife sitting in the entrance way, which he believed was a threat. The man who was arrested was the boyfriend of the resident’s ex-girlfriend, who was among the resident’s suspects.

A teenager with an explosive sense of humor was reported after he was seen running from the back side of a post office on First Street East shortly after a loud bang could be heard. An exploded soda bottle was found in the parking lot.
An Eighth Street West resident reported that her home was egged and that she saw several youths running into a nearby fast food restaurant after it happened.
A semi hauling a double-wide trailer was reported for forcing several vehicles off the road and rubbing a guardrail on U.S. 2 East.
