SANDPOINT — Three candidates seeking elected office have campaign contributions and expenditures in the five-figure range, according to financial disclosure reports.

Cary Kelly, a Republican nominee for the District 3 seat on the county commission, collected total contributions of $20,360, making his campaign the most well-heeled in the 2012 election cycle. Kelly listed total expenditures of $19,466.

Kelly’s write-in opponent, incumbent Republican Commissioner Lewie Rich, reported receiving contributions of $4,407 and expending $4,114 during his campaign to keep his seat on the board.

Incumbent Sheriff Daryl Wheeler, who fended off Tim Fry and Shaun Winkler in the primary to keep his GOP nomination, listed total contributions of $11,563 and total expenditures of $11,268 during his re-election bid.

Rocky Jordan, a Constitution candidate trying to unseat Wheeler, reported contributions of $4,790 and expenditures of $6,578.

Joyce Broadsword, the GOP nominee reported receiving $13,704 in contributions toward her effort to win the District 1 spot on the county commission. She reported total expenditures of $10,480.

Broadsword edged incumbent Commissioner Cornel Rasor in the primary.

Steve Johnson, an independent who’s also vying for the District 1 seat, took in $8,060 in contributions and spent $6,725 during his campaign, according to disclosure reports.

In the race for county prosecutor, the challengers are leading incumbent Republican Louis Marshall in fundraising efforts. He faces independents Tevis Hull and Michael Waldrup on Tuesday.

Hull reported total contributions and expenditures of $4,381. Waldrup’s seven-day pre-general election report was not on file Friday, although a post-primary report indicated he had raised $4,779 in contributions and $870 in expenditures as of Sept. 30.

Marshall listed contributions of $3,517 and expenditures of $2,570 in the run-up to Tuesday’s election.
