Knicks roll past Heat in storm-delayed opener

Carmelo Anthony had 30 points and 10 rebounds, and the Knicks gave suffering New Yorkers something to cheer with a 104-84 victory over the visiting Miami Heat in their storm-delayed season opener Friday night.

In the first sporting event in New York since Superstorm Sandy, the Knicks dominated a game the Heat players weren't sure should even be played with the city still so devastated. But the Knicks hoped they could provide a distraction for fans who were able to watch surely loved what they saw from a team that could barely compete with Miami last season.

Magic 102, Nuggets 89: Glen Davis scored 29 points and Orlando beat visiting Denver.

Bobcats 90, Pacers 89: Kemba Walker scored 30 points and host Charlotte beat Indiana.

Bucks 99, Celtics 88: Brandon Jennings had 21 points, 13 assists and six steals and Milwaukee won at Boston.

Bulls 115, Cavaliers 86: Richard Hamilton and Carlos Boozer each scored 19 points and Chicago romped at Cleveland.

Thunder 106, Trail Blazers 92: Russell Westbrook scored 32 points to lead host Oklahoma City past Portland.

Timberwolves 92, Kings 80: At Minneapolis, J.J. Barea had 21 points and five assists to lead Minnesota past Sacramento.

Hornets 88, Jazz 86: Greivis Vasquez hit a driving layup with 1.3 seconds left, leading New Orleans past visiting Utah even though the Hornets played without rookie center Anthony Davis for the second half.

Clippers 105, Lakers 95: Jamal Crawford scored 21 points and the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Los Angeles Lakers.

Rockets 109, Hawks 102: James Harden scored 45 points, leading Houston at Atlanta.

Grizzlies 104, Warriors 94: At Oakland, Calif., Marc Gasol and Mike Conley both scored 21 points, and Memphis beat Golden State.

Suns 92, Pistons 89: Marcin Gortat had 16 points, 16 rebounds and three blocked shots to lead Phoenix past visiting Detroit.
