Community Thanks November 4, 2012

EVENT: Thank you, community
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kootenai County would like to thank our community for helping make our 6th annual gala event, The Race is On! Building Kids' Futures, such a huge success for funding the after school and summer youth development programs for the kids of Kootenai County. We had guests dressed in race attire from the Great Gatsby era, to motocross, to gunny sack racing! It was a very fun and exciting evening.
We would especially like to thank this year's sponsors: Sterling Bank, Phones Plus, Berg Companies, Idaho Forest Group, Kootenai Health, Potlatch No. 1 Federal Credit Union, Post Falls Community Volunteers, Numerica Credit Union, Panhandle State Bank, Bibin & Associates, Centennial Distributing and the Coeur d'Alene Press. Along with over 110 event donors and dozens of volunteers, those who made the evening extra special were Chuck Shirley and the great staff at The Coeur d'Alene Resort, Auctioneers Matt & Rose Backs, Zach Mathers Photography, Vertical Earth, Two Wheeler Dealer, Motocross Champ Jeremy Harmon, Stateline Speedway and Ian Martin of Great Floors.
As we approach the December opening day of our brand new Post Falls facility - The Boys & Girls Club of Kootenai Jordan Johnson Center - it's become evident that with the support of so many businesses, individuals, civic groups, the Club staff, and the Club kids, we will continue to expand to other locations in Kootenai County and serve more youth who need the safe and caring environment that the Club provides to all 6-18 year olds.
For the Kids,
RYAN DAVIS
Executive Director
Boys & Girls Clubs of Kootenai County
SHELTER: Dog's care appreciated
I want to give a huge thank you to the Animal Shelter in Post Falls, in particular Julius, for caring for my dog Axel. He was taken from my fenced back yard by inconsiderate neighbors who obviously don't understand or care about the companionship that he has given me in these last three years. I feel blessed that there are still good people in the world who lend a hand to those who are hurting. Thank you Post Falls!

TEAM: Rotary Club event a success
On Sunday, Oct. 28, the Rotary Club of Coeur d'Alene Sunrise hosted the Harlem Ambassadors professional show basketball team for a night of high-flying slam dunks, hilarious comedy, and feel-good family entertainment.
The Harlem Ambassadors would like to extend a special thank you to event organizers Cari Fraser and Judi Cronin who planned and promoted the game. The Rotary Rangers proved to be an energetic, enthusiastic and challenging team and we thank all of the players for their good sportsmanship. The event would not have been possible without the support and generosity of local community sponsors, the Rotary Club of Coeur d'Alene Sunrise members, and the event volunteers.
The Harlem Ambassadors thank the community of Coeur d'Alene for its warm hospitality and look forward to returning to Coeur d'Alene in the future!
Best regards,
DALE MOSS
Harlem Ambassadors President
