SILVERTON - The Wallace Miners football season came to a close Saturday at Sather Field in the first round of the playoffs as the Troy Trojans took down the Miners 34-6 on Saturday at Sather Field.

The Trojans got off to a quick start in the first quarter, scoring 22 straight points. The Trojans received the ball to start the game and methodically drove down the field and capped it off with a 5-yard touchdown run by junior tailback Zach Bafus.

The Miners drove down the field to the Trojans' 9-yard line, but after a fumbled snap, Troy defensive back Cody Self scooped up the loose football and returned it 91 yards to give the Trojans a 14-0 lead.

The Trojans got another touchdown in the first quarter on a 27-yard pass from Self to Kirk Nelson.

The Trojans made it 28-0 in the fourth quarter on an electric 80-yard touchdown run from Bafus.

The Miners got on the board later in the fourth quarter with a 40-yard pass from Jacob Berman to Brock Arthun to make the score 28-6, but it was too little too late for Wallace. The Trojans closed out the scoring on a 10-yard touchdown run by Bafus to make the final 34-6.
