Wildfire tryouts: The Northwest Wildfire will hold tryouts for its 10-and-under and 14U teams Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Premier Sports Center in Post Falls.

VOLLEYBALL

Thunder tryouts: The North Idaho Thunder volleyball club will hold tryouts Nov. 11 at Coeur d'Alene High School.

The U12 tryouts are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the U13/U14 tryouts are from 2 to 4 p.m., the U15/U16 tryouts are from 5 to 7 p.m., and the U17/U18 tryouts are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Players must register online prior to tryouts at webpoint.usavolleyball.org.

AAU BASKETBALL

North Idaho Storm: In the opening weekend for the Post Falls Competitive League, the Storm fourth-grade boys beat the Rim Rattlers 36-21. Kaden Cripps lead the Storm with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 9 steals and 2 assists. Dylan Behrens had 6 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists, Tyson Rutherford 6 points and 9 rebounds, Tyler Arnone 5 points, 3 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists, Dylan Brown 3 points and 8 steals, Nick Bailey 2 points and 6 rebounds, Marcus Butler 2 points and 3 rebounds, and Cooper Green 2 points and 4 rebounds.

Coeur d'Alene Sting under-11 girls (Walker): The Sting played two games this past Friday and Saturday. The Sting won the first game vs. Shadow United 4-1. Geneva Bengtson scored two goals and teammates Julieanna Stith and Emma Ramage scored one each. In the second game, the Sting beat the SSC Shadow 8-1. Jaizee Cessna scored three goals, Geneva Bengtson scored two goals and Grace Anderson-Mosher, Lily Foster and Cierra Brandt each scored one goal.

Sting U9 boys United: The Sting beat the Pullman U10 team 4-3 and lost to the Moscow U10 team last weekend to finish league play. Noah Janzen scored three goals, Talon Mitchell one for the Sting in the win over Pullman. Janzen scored the lone goal for the Sting in the loss to Moscow. The Sting finished fifth in the Northwest League U10 division.

Sting U13 boys (Trapp): The Sting finished the fall season with a 2-1 victory over the Shadow United (Denman). Marco Rojo and Colvin Dunteman each scored once for the Sting, which finished second with a 8-1-1 record.

Sting U11 boys (Bayern): The Sting lost 3-2 to the Sting (Inter) on Oct. 29. Jackson Henkle and Sam Anderson each scored once for Bayern, with an assist from Cameron Dance.

On Oct. 30th the Sting (Bayern) tied the Idaho Thunder 2-2. Ty Shaw and Cameron Dance scored for the Sting.

The Sting (Bayern) beat FC Spokane 10-2 on Nov. 3. Sam Anderson and Ty Shaw each scored hat tricks for the Sting, and Jackson Henkle, Caden Hess, Jacob Baker and Lance Riley each scored once. Assists came from Sam Anderson, Ty Shaw, Braden Jackson and Paul Wineinger.

Sting U14 boys: The Sting defeated the Cascade FC 5-0 in a home match on Saturday. Max Bennett, Riley Glover, Porter Hall, Brayden Lanphere and Kade Martinelli each scored once. Ezra Grossglauser had two assists, Caleb Kraut one. Tyler Rieken had five saves in posting the shutout in goal for the Sting, which improved to 7-3 in the Puget Sound Premiere Classic League.

Idaho Thunder U11 boys (Halseth): The Thunder tied the Sting 2-2 last Tuesday. Cameron Calabretto and Tristan Delbridge scored for the Thunder.

Last Saturday, the Thunder blanked FCC Spokane (Pollock) 9-0. Gavin McLuskie scored a hat trick and also had an assist, and Jalen Skalskiy scored one and assisted on one as well. Cameron Calabretto, Tristan Delbridge and Alex Lycan each scored once. Max Smith scored twice and had an assist, and then teamed with Seth Neely to earn the shutout in goal. The Thunder finished second out of 11 teams in District 6 play.

COEUR d'ALENE RECREATION

Basketball: A 9th/10th-grade boys basketball league will be offered by the Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department. Registration will be held Nov. 13-30.

Practices will begin in December and games will be held the month of December through the first of January.

Cost is $26 for city residents and $31 for non-city residents. The Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department is located in the lower level of City Hall at 710 Mullan Avenue.

Girls basketball camp: The Lake City High School Timberwolves girls basketball team and coach Brian Kelly will conduct a girls basketball clinic for 2nd-6th graders, sponsored by the Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department, on Friday, Nov. 23.

The clinic will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Woodland Middle School. Fee is $30 and required in advance. Registration forms are available at the recreation department office at 710 Mullan Avenue.
