After an agonizingly long night for elections workers — marred by a technical glitch that slowed things down more — here are final results for Kootenai County races. These numbers are unofficial until the canvass is completed.
Statewide, U.S. Rep. Raul Labrador easily won re-election while all three education reform propositions fell — hard. Locally, voters finally had their say on a proposal to change the way Kootenai County government is structured. When the score was totaled, voters emphatically agreed they liked county government just the way it is. The only big change within that specific government is that Ben Wolfinger will be your next sheriff.
Those following the vigorous battles for unpaid seats on the board that oversees North Idaho College will note that incumbent Mic Armon was ousted, Judy Meyer was retained and newcomers Ron Nilson and Todd Banducci were elected.
