Williams all- conference at Carroll College

Derrick Williams, a 2012 Columbia Falls High School graduate and a freshman at Carroll College, earned all-Frontier College honors in men’s cross country this fall.

The top-10 runners at the conference meet earn all-conference recognition. Williams placed fifth at the meet.

Williams was one of four Carroll College runners named all-conference. Carroll’s cross country coach, Matt Morris, was selected coach of the year.

Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
