Body discovered in Pablo

PABLO — Shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Saturday November 3, the Lake County Sheriff’s 911 center took a call that partially skeletonized human remains had been discovered by two children walking through an undeveloped wooded area of Pablo. Officers from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Tribal Police responded. The scene was processed and the remains were transported to the State Crime Lab in Missoula for positive identification. The remains appear to be that of an adult Caucasian male and have been outdoors for a long period of time.

Sex offender apprehended

Following multiple tips to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Phillip Pierre, Jr. in Ronan shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 11. Pierre was taken into custody without incident and was booked into the Lake County Detention Center on an outstanding $25,000 District Court warrant for a previous failing to register violation.

Sheriff's office investigates dead cow

VALLEY VIEW — Lake County Sheriff's deputies responded to a Valley View ranch on Saturday morning, June 30, 2012, to investigate the death of an adult cow. The cow's death appeared to be non-natural as some of the meat from the animal had been cut off and some of the organs were removed.
