Fanny pack full of cash stolen from home
A Bayview homeowner on Tuesday reported a stolen fanny pack containing cash and a passport, according to a Kootenai County Sheriff's Department report.
The homeowner, at a 7,000 square foot, three-story lakefront cabin at 34235 N. Raven Place in Bayview, said the fanny pack was loaded with U.S. currency and Mexican Pesos.
The homeowner said he kept a black carry-on-luggage bag in his master bedroom closet that is packed with a fanny pack and various toiletry items.
The fanny pack contains his U.S. passport, and at least $1,000 in U.S. currency, the report said.
The fanny pack also includes at least $10,000 in Pesos.
The owner said he keeps this fanny pack ready to go in his luggage so he can use it when he goes to Mexico, where he owns two homes.
He also keeps a key chain in the fanny pack with keys for his homes in Mexico and a shop in Mexico.
The fanny pack and its contents were found missing when he was packing for a trip to Mexico.
No other items in the home were missing, according to the report.
