H. Patricia (Patty or Pati) Morse, 86
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 12 years, 2 months AGO
H. Patricia (Patty or Pati) Morse went home to her Lord and Savior Oct. 4, 2012, after a long illness. She was born July 9, 1926, in Dixie (Notus). She was the third child in seven of Zenas and Elma Perisho, and spent her childhood in many small communities in Oregon, Washington and Idaho where her father served as pastor.
Patty graduated from Greenleaf Friends Academy in Greenleaf and went on to attend what is now George Fox University, Newberg, Ore., where she was president of her sophomore class. She married Donald Morse in 1946, and they lived for several years outside Caldwell, where they farmed.
They moved to Hayden in 1956, feeling the call of God to help establish the Hayden Friends Church. Don and Patty purchased land in Hayden, and sold the acreage fronting on Hayden Avenue to the church. They helped build the church while also building their own home next door. In 1968, they moved to another home they built in Hayden. They served faithfully at Hayden Friends and Post Falls Friends churches, and continued to faithfully attend as long as they were able.
Patty was an avid gardener, seamstress for her four girls, and was skilled in many forms of needlework. Patty loved God’s word and taught Bible studies for many years. She played the piano and organ, leading singing at church; and blessed us with many solos in church and at talent shows. There was always music in her home. Her hands were never idle, and her feet seldom still; a true Proverbs woman.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a brother and her beloved husband, Don.
She leaves behind three siblings: Art Perisho, Talent, Ore.; Geraldine Morse, Beaver Creek, Ore.; and Stanley Perisho, Coeur d’Alene; four daughters: Sandra Crecelius, Hayden; Janet Mueller, Spokane; Marcia Royal, Careywood and Theresa James, Spokane; 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. We greatly miss her, and know that her faithful friends miss her too.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Yates Funeral Home in Hayden. Please visit Patty’s memorial and sign her online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
